Here at Barnet Synagogue the community enjoyed a full and fulfilling schedule over Shavuot. Over 50 members attended a Tikun Leil Shavuot with Shiurim given by visiting Rabbi Gideon Sylvester and Barnet Rabbi Barry Lerer, as well as contributions from members of the Synagogue. A variety of cheesecakes and an ice cream parlour were available through the night until the early morning Shacharit.
On the first day, a sell-out Shavuot Lunch was attended by well over 100 members who enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by members of the community, along with a great community atmosphere and an inspirational talk from Rabbi Sylvester.
On the second day of Yom Tov 14 parents and new born babies, came to shul for a baby blessing after the main service and were addressed by Rabbi Lerer who presented them each with a certificate.
Later that afternoon, the Daf Yomi Shiur made a Siyum on Tractate Ketubot.
One member commented that this “Shavuot was the best they remembered and had a combination of wonderful community spirit and a focus on Torah learning…..surely that’s what Shavuot is all about”.
We would like to thank all those that donated to our Shavuot Flowers - you made the shul blossom with life.
