Rabbi Barry Lerer has been the Rabbi of Barnet Synagogue since June 2006.
Rabbi Lerer was born in the USA and educated in the UK. He learned at Yeshivat Hakotel in Jerusalem and gained Semicha from Jews College. He also has a degree in Psychology.

Rabbi Lerer places emphasis on education at the Synagogue and also teaches part-time at the Hasmonean High School in Hendon.

Prior to taking up his position in Barnet Rabbi Lerer was the Rabbi of Watford and District Synagogue for 4 and a half years and prior to that was Youth Director at Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue for 5 years..
Rabbi Lerer is married to Naomi and they have four sons, Zevi, Amichai, Yishai and Gadi.
